The story of

EVA CASAS

The dream started in 2008.

(or was it 2009? It's hard to say considering I was 4.)

When I was four years old, I had a big dream: I wanted to sell my artwork online. My mom, being the sensible one, said no. I cried. But that dream? It was just the beginning of my creative journey. From that moment on, the world of design was mine to explore.

I grew up between the Carolinas, where I spent my days surrounded by nature, old books, and an unending supply of art supplies. Drawing, painting, and imagining were as much a part of my life as breathing. What started as doodles on scraps of paper soon became more complex—ideas transformed into designs. By middle school, I was experimenting with different creative mediums, figuring out how to bring my visions to life. I was teaching myself design, playing with shapes and colors, and getting lost in the art of creation.

At 16, my family moved to Charleston, and the city’s charm inspired me in ways I never expected. The blend of history, creativity, and southern elegance seemed to feed my soul. Soon, I found myself working with a Virtual Assistant, taking on design projects, and diving into social media management. It was a bit unexpected, but I loved the challenge. I started working closely with a large Instagram account, learning the ins and outs of content creation, engagement, and building a digital presence. This was my introduction to the power of branding and the way a visual identity can tell a story.

Now, at 20, I’m a senior at Charleston Southern University, majoring in Graphic Design and minoring in Public Relations. My creative world is more expansive than ever, and I’m lucky enough to be in a place that pushes me to learn and grow. My days are spent exploring the art of visual communication, refining my craft, and creating designs that connect with people on a deeper level.

Gaining experience in the creative field during my time at college has been transformative. I currently work at Kindred, where I wear a few different hats, but everything ties back to one thing: building meaningful connections through design. As an Account Manager, I take on the responsibility of managing multiple client accounts, guiding them from brainstorming sessions to content creation and posting. It’s not just about design—it’s about being a partner in the creative process, helping clients grow and telling their stories in the digital world. Managing client communication, analyzing analytics, and fine-tuning strategies? That’s part of the gig too. Every day is a new opportunity to create, connect, and collaborate.

I also get to take the lead on larger-scale design projects, which I love. Creating custom brand suites is my favorite, but I enjoy every project I work on—from booklets and newsletters to packaging and beyond. There’s nothing more rewarding than helping clients bring their ideas to reality; it’s the part of my work that makes me fall in love with design all over again each time. No matter the format, I love creating designs that connect with an audience, reflect core values, and bring a vision to life.

When I’m not working, you’ll likely find me wandering the streets of Charleston, soaking in the history and charm of this beautiful city. There’s something about the old-world architecture and the coastal air that keeps me inspired. Whether I’m working from my front porch, catching a sunset at the beach, or getting lost in the local cafés, Charleston’s energy fuels my creativity.

For me, creativity is more than a passion—it’s an act of worship. My faith is woven into my work, and every moment of inspiration feels like a whisper from the Creator. I believe that every creative endeavor is an opportunity to reflect His beauty and bring His light into the world. To me, every project is an opportunity to shine a light. My work is my way of serving others, building something meaningful, and glorifying the God through what I create.
